Merger

I Merged the Story Time Blog with Stuff, all poems and Stories of Story Time are now available on this Blog.

The Question

Where is it?
What is it?
Who is it?
Is it someone or something?
Can you tell me?

Is it the sign?
Is it this stone?
What is it?
How can reach it?

What is the answer to the riddle?

Past

Past

Always poised
to
strike
Always on your
heels
Never there

Always considered
but never
respected
Always feared
but
never accepted

It comes

Future

Future

It comes closer
all the time
but
never arrives
It promises
a great deal
but
changes its mind
It is always spoken
of in hope
but
it never helps

The only change

comes from
within

The House

Few man entered the House on the other side of the street as usual and as usual they all ran out after ten minutes staying inside. Their running was accompanied by a loud shrill screaming.Everything was running its used way was the only thought in Mr. Tenners head, while i may remark that the most remarkable thing about Mr. Tenner was that he actually did do nothing but watching the house on the other side of t he road. The most interesting thing about this house on the other side is that a woman named Mrs. Raynold lived there she was 150 years old which in its self is not that remarkable at all, but the thing with her is she still lives in her normal house and never left it since her 65th birthday which marked the day since when Mr. Tenner watched this. but only slowed down, for this exact reason did the society not want to see the Well in this time, country and society everyone which is above 64 years old has to live in encampments which are called living centers. The shocking truth is that this society does not like to reminded of aging in itself and the fact of that you are not going to be looking good for the rest of your live. (The age 65 would be an equivalent of about 30 years in the year 2000 or at least you would think that this 65 year old person would be about 30.)The society was created around looking perfect since medicine made fat, unattractive etc. practically non-existent did the one problem aging remain. Since the aging process could never be reversedinevitable which was they were going to age. Thus the most logical solution was to ban all the old people above 65 out of the daily live and bring them somewhere 'safe' and 'helpful'. Only few 65 years old wanted to stay and actually resisted the authorities and since death and/or seeing and old person would be worse did the government agree to give her everything she needed and thus keeping her in the house. Mrs. Raynold was not actually 150 years but of tomorrow she would that was when her birthday, while the buys running out of thew house where the suppliers. But tomorrow would be Mr. Tenners day the day on which he would be brought to the 'place' nobody actually knew what was going on there but only that all people above 64 were brought there. He had already heard many stories about what would happen with the people there some said that you were made to food like in some movie (to which in some past was a book too) then there is the theory. That they used the people there for all kinds of experiments for food, clothing etc. but that did not make a whole lot of sense. In the end nobody actually knew what was going on at the 'place' which was promised and promoted so much. At the next morning there was a knocking on the door in front of which a young man was standing with a clipboard he read of the board :”Mr. Tenner this is your 65th birthday yes?” Mr. Tenner just nodded since it was very early in the morning still looking over at the house. He was let by the man towards the car and heard the man talking to a boy that apparently wanted to know what was going on “...these old people are unpredictable and you never know how dangerous they are...” this made Mr. Tenner somewhat sad because he knew he would never see his family again. Then after he entered the car which almost immediately began to move, then the house began to glide slowly out of side, until it finally disappeared behind a corner. Then after a couple minutes after Mr. Tenners estimate did they reach a big building which seemed very friendly and... white. The door opened and he turned around to look into the eyes of a younger man that told him:” Go on old man there is nothing to be afraid of” while he was saying that his eyes stayed entirely neutral without a hind of mercy in them. So Mr. Tenner slowly moved through the door and then finally opened it, he slowly he stood up in the sun which was warming his back. Then he began to walk slowly towards the door which was big enough to fit the biggest ships in there when he reached the door was the first thing that he noticed that it was closed, so he turned around towards the car from which he had just come but it had disappeared. Then a soft voice from his left said:” How may I help you Mr. Tenner this voice seemed to originate from the booth to his left in which a very young and attractive woman sad, she seemed to be waiting just for his and only his response. “Today is my 65th birthday and they brought me here.” She just nodded and answered “I know that but the question how can I help you because we want to know what you need to be happy.”

Personal Space...---->?

Personal Space, the concept of a person needing a certain distance between themselves and someone else a.k.a. 'space' to feel comfortable. This concept seems to vary within cultures and also within cultures from region to region. North America is considered part of the 'western culture' while personal space is considered essential in most European countries and physical closeness is mostly permitted to known persons that have a certain importance to this person. In North America or to be more precise on the islands in B.C. the hug is actually a very common way of greeting and a common way a bidding someone Good-bye. The hug creates a more intimate feeling and allows a stranger to feel more welcome, yet many other parts of the western culture do not see the need or any reason for creating this closer feeling. Is it just a response to the more isolated way of living which does not really exist in this form anymore, or rather does not exist anymore on the southern part of the islands anymore. So why is the hug still important why do the people of this region still consider the hug so important?

Responsible Government

Responsible Government is the concept of a government which provides a government that is accountable to the people and represents them fairily. Canada theoreticly has a responsible government, this government is theoreticly a fair representation, for the people.
Due to certain issues the Canadian government is not really all that responsible or representative.
One of the mafor issue is the election process which does not allow for a fair representation, but rather the representation of a certain group which provides the greatest number of votes. The percentage of votes necessary to govern is the the greatest all parties archive, it can be less then fifty percent, it can be forty or even thirty percent as long as no other party has more votes.
This clearly does not provide the a fairly representing government, this government allows an elite to control the governance of a nation.
Now beyond this there is another problem, which is simple, a part of the government does not know what it is actually supposed to do. To be more acurate the part that does not know its own purpose, this is the Parliament which is supposed to keep the government accountable for its actoims. Now today's MP's that make the Parliament are supposed to represent their areas which they can't do fairily anyways since they are not elected by they majority. The Parliament can not fairily represent the people it is supposed to represent and due to the confusion which seems to be present in the political world of Canada. The Prime Minister and the Cabinet for example do not have the actual power to say how much the Canadian government spends since that is one of the powers the Parliament has, most curiously the Parliament does not seem to use its entire power nor does it realize its full responsibilities. The Parliament does not actually try to keep the government accountable nor does it attempt to protect what is rightfully its domain, it actually allows the Cabinet and the Prime Minister more power then either should have for example the power to declare war or to make treaties. It is not just age that created these problems but as well the so called Party line which by now has become something very important. Every MP that comes into the Parliament will be kept in line and also will be kept busy with make work projects which make sure that the MP does not get bored or get any funny ideas. Is this truly responsible government?

Whaling...

Iceland has officially broken its 21 year old whaling ban, the question that remains is how andagered are the whales? Iceland's a argument for whaling is that because most whales in the Atlantic are living in the waters of Iceland, thus making limited whaling sustainable in their waters. Icelands whalers will exclusivly whale Mink whales and only 30 of those. Yet, is this sustainable? The Japanese just stepped up their whaling program and the whale population is greatly decimated as it is. The actuall impact of those increases in whaling can only be told with time, can we afford to take the risk of exterminating another species?
The whales represent a great portion of the under water food chain which has already suffered greatly under over fishing. The full impact of is still inknown but it is claer that the extermination of more species will have an impact on the environment. What will a dead ocean mean?
Today there are three nations that still continue to whale, Japan, Norway and the newest member of this group is Iceland. Todays technology makes it possible that a single whaling ship can bring mayham to the species it is fishing or hunting. The ban on whaling was created because most nations accepted that whales were being hunted to the verge of extinction. Why if the whales can be extinct would they ban it?
For some reason those nations had to think that the whale as a species is actually important to the environment otherwhise why would they have stopped it?
